Just blocks from my new post in Qibao, Shanghai, is an "Ancient Town" (note pagoda on top right) where I took these shots after school one day last week. At 1000 years old, this surviving specimen of a Yangtze delta water town is a pristine pocket of history in the midst of relentless traffic, shoddy apartment buildings and bad fashion. I can't believe it's just down the street!
